Lyrical themes on the record include isolation, brain injury, mass hysteria, futility, and incarceration, but don’t be fooled: ​KILTER is not a dark and serious album. Its broad influences, self awareness, insistent hooks and melodies, and occasional psychedelic feel provide a playful counterpoint  to the more intense exploration of descent into madness.
